These are the results of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VL6Y8RBH8Xw\">iData Barometer<\/a>, conducted in the current month of June, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding the teaching method, 50.2% of respondents believe that the subject should be introduced as an optional one, and only 14.2% support its inclusion as a mandatory subject in the school curriculum.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Significant differences appear at the regional level. The inhabitants of the capital show themselves much more open to this initiative.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;If we look at the regional level, people from Chisinau are definitely in favor of including this discipline in schools. We have much higher percentages than in the rest of the country,&#8221; said Mihai Bologan, the director of iData.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked whether, as parents or potential parents, they would accept their own child participating in sex education classes at school, 45.4% responded affirmatively, while 43.9% declared themselves against it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the respondents, the reason for those who oppose the introduction of sexual education in schools is mainly the belief that such discussions should be held exclusively within the family. Other respondents invoke the fear that these lessons could encourage early sexual behaviors, and some argue that there is a persistent lack of information regarding the actual content of the subject.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The survey was conducted during the period of June 14-23, on a sample of 1,015 respondents, with a margin of error of \u00b13%.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Disclaimer: This material is produced within the framework of the project implemented by the IPN Press Agency &#8211; &#8220;Integration through cooperation and information&#8221; and is funded by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova.
