The former democratic deputy, Constantin Tutu, was forcibly brought to the session at the Chisinau Court, Buiucani headquarters. From the defendant’s bench, he told journalists that he crossed the border legally, and what is happening is a “fabrication”. The session ended shortly after it began, at the request of the lawyers, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
“I legally crossed the border, I left legally and I returned legally. What is happening is a fabrication,” stated Constantin Tutu, when asked by journalists to comment on the accusations brought against him.<\/p>\n\n
The court session was postponed after the defense requested additional time to examine the case materials, and the magistrates granted the request. The next session was scheduled for October 28.<\/p>\n\n
The former parliamentarian is targeted in a case of illicit enrichment. In another case, he is accused of attempting to offer 700 euros to a border police officer for the application of a false stamp that would certify his legal entry into the Republic of Moldova through the Vulcanesti-Vinogradovca checkpoint.<\/p>\n\n
Constantin Tutu was detained on the evening of October 2nd at the Vulcanesti border, after allegedly coming from Ukraine. Previously, he had illegally entered the Transnistrian region through Ukraine, despite being banned from leaving Greece, a measure imposed after his arrest on July 22nd at the Athens Airport, along with Vlad Plahotniuc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
