The Minister of Energy in Bucharest, Bogdan Ivan, stated that the seven hydroelectric plants will add capacities of 214 MW of secure energy to the Romanian energy system, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Secure and clean energy produced in Romania, jobs and long-term energy stability&#8221;, wrote the minister on his Facebook page, emphasizing that it is an important step towards the country&#8217;s energy independence.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The works will resume at the hydroelectric power plants: Rastolita &#8211; 35.3 MW; Bumbesti-Livezeni &#8211; 65.2 MW; Surduc-Siriu (Nehoiasu) &#8211; 55 MW; Pascani (Siret) &#8211; 9.4 MW, Cerna-Belareca &#8211; 14.7 MW, Cornetu-Avrig \/ Caineni &#8211; 26.5 MW and Cerna Motru-Tismana II (Vaja Dam) &#8211; 8 MW.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Republic of Moldova imports over 80% of its required electricity. Of the total purchases made by Energocom in September, 64.65% were carried out through bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers from Romania and Ukraine, while the remaining 16.2% were made through the trading platforms Romanian Commodities Exchange and OPCOM, the designated operator of the electricity and natural gas market in Romania.
