The authorities have invested over 826 million lei in subsidized medicines and medical devices in the first eight months of the year, according to data presented by the National Health Insurance Company. The amount is 82 million lei higher than that allocated in the same period of the previous year, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
In total, approximately 650 thousand patients have benefited from subsidized treatments through the Automated Information System “ePrescription”.<\/p>\n\n
According to CNAM, the majority of the funds – 775 million lei – were allocated towards the compensation of medicines, while over 51 million lei were allocated for medical devices.<\/p>\n\n
The largest expenses were for the treatment of circulatory system diseases, which drew over 378 million lei from the mandatory health insurance funds. Another 252 million were allocated for medications intended for endocrine, nutritional and metabolic disorders.<\/p>\n\n
The average cost of reimbursed drugs for a patient was 1,280 lei, but in the case of treatments for skin diseases, this rose to 2,150 lei.<\/p>\n\n
