Knowledge of the Romanian language can help young people from ethnic minority communities in the Republic of Moldova to integrate more easily into the country’s social and academic life. Romania is open to strongly support initiatives that contribute to the rapprochement between communities and the strengthening of bilateral relations. These statements were made during an event held at the Ministry of Education and Research, where students and teachers from Gagauzia and the Taraclia district shared their experiences gained during the Romanian language summer camp organized in Iasi, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
“Your participation in this Romanian language camp demonstrates that education can be the most effective tool for bringing people closer together, for building bridges of friendship among young people, and for shaping an inclusive society,” emphasized Ivan Duminica, the head of the Department of Interethnic Relations Policies within the Ministry of Education and Research.<\/p>\n\n
In addition to grammar and reading courses, as well as team work sessions moderated by Romanian language and literature teachers, Moldovan students visited museums, libraries and other historical sites in Ia\u0219i and had exchanges of experience with Romanian students.<\/p>\n\n
“We are pleased to support young people belonging to ethnic minorities in the Republic of Moldova in acquiring the necessary linguistic skills in the Romanian language,” declared Marc-Emilian Morar, Minister-Counselor of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau.<\/p>\n\n
The Romanian diplomat mentioned that this camp represents a significant educational investment in the future of these students and reiterated Romania’s full support for such initiatives.<\/p>\n\n
The Romanian language camp is a project launched in the summer of this year, intended for students from non-Romanian speaking institutions in Gagauzia and Taraclia district. The 200 selected students and 20 teachers were present in Iasi for almost two weeks, from August 18 to 29. For the following editions, the authorities announce an extended program, which will include students from across the country.<\/p>\n\n
