The decision, communicated by the Council of the European Union on September 25, is appreciated in Chisinau as &#8220;a historic step for the Customs Service and for the whole country,&#8221; IPN reports.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the customs authority, the invitation confirms the firm direction of European integration and the constant efforts to modernize and harmonize with the standards of the European Union.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It is a moment of pride and responsibility, which demonstrates that we can build a modern, European and trade facilitation-oriented Customs,&#8221; said the director of the Customs Service, Alexandru Iacub, quoted in a press release of the institution.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Republic Of Moldova will be able to become a party to the convention starting with November 1, 2025, by submitting the instrument of accession to the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Disclaimer:\u00a0<\/em><em>This material was produced within the project implemented by the IPN Press Agency \u2013 \u201cIntegration through Cooperation and Information\u201d and is funded by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova.
