The defender of the former democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc claims that he has received “signals and messages” regarding possible provocations that could turn his extradition into an “electorally exploited show” by the current political power in Chisinau. The authorities in Chisinau recently announced that Plahotniuc will be extradited to Moldova on September 25, three days before the parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n\n
In a public statement, Plahotniuc’s lawyer, Lucian Rogac, claims that there may be information suggesting that the Moldovan authorities are planning other extradition dates than September 25, 2025, but they have asked the Greek side to publicly confirm this date. However, he emphasizes that he cannot confirm the authenticity of this information and admits that it could simply be rumors.<\/p>\n\n
On its part, the Chisinau Government has previously assured that the procedures for bringing the former politician back to the country are “fully under control” and will be carried out in accordance with the legislation.<\/p>\n\n
