Mayors from Moldova will become more actively involved in the European integration process and in capitalizing on the opportunities offered by the association dialogue, having in this regard the support of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR).<\/p>\n\n
As part of a project launched on Friday, named PACE Local – Local Public Administration, Citizen Involvement, the parties have committed to stimulate investments in rural communities, digitize public services, and improve the quality of services and local infrastructure. Areas such as waste management, energy efficiency, access to drinking water, and sanitation are targeted, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
To strengthen cooperation, the SALAR association, which represents 290 municipalities in Sweden, has signed collaboration agreements with the State Chancellery and the Congress of Local Public Authorities in Moldova, strategic partners in the implementation of the project.<\/p>\n\n
In a message addressed to the event participants, the president of SALAR, Anders Henriksson, mentioned that Moldova has strong communities and people who wish to be heard. Therefore, Sweden is here to support local administrations and help citizens build their future together.<\/p>\n\n
Andrei Strah, Deputy Secretary General of the Government, stated that the main objective of the new project is to improve the services offered to citizens and that the Republic of Moldova is currently in a favorable position to promote the idea of European integration at a local level.<\/p>\n\n
Viorel Furdui, the executive director of CALM, emphasized that the subject of European integration is of great interest to mayors, opening new perspectives for communities and offering new opportunities for development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
