On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Moldova, the leaders of neighboring states\u2014Romania and Ukraine\u2014sent messages of congratulations and support, reaffirming close ties and shared goals in the regional and European context, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
The Prime Minister of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, emphasized the fraternal nature and steadfast support that Romania consistently provides to the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n
\u201c Romania will remain an unwavering supporter of the ideals of the Republic of Moldova and of Romanians across the Prut, as it has demonstrated over the 34 years since the proclamation of the country\u2019s independence,\u201d stated the Romanian prime minister.<\/p>\n\n
Ilie Bolojan highlighted the unique bond of language, culture, and traditions, as well as Bucharest\u2019s firm commitment to supporting Moldova\u2019s European path: \u201cRegardless of the times, we will face challenges together and continue to be a pillar of support for our brothers across the Prut who aspire to a better life\u201d.<\/p>\n\n
A message of solidarity was also expressed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who sent congratulations to his counterpart Maia Sandu and to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cOur region is deeply interconnected, and together we must protect our peoples, states, and independence. That is exactly what we are doing,\u201d said the leader from Kyiv.<\/p>\n\n
