The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, today conveyed a message of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, on the occasion of the neighboring state’s Independence Day, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
“Today, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, we honor the courage of our neighboring people, who defend their right to freedom every day. Standing up to barbaric aggression, Ukrainians prevent the war from spreading, thereby protecting our peace and sovereignty as well,” says Maia Sandu.<\/p>\n\n
And the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, sent a message of congratulations and confidence in Ukraine’s victory: “We all want a free, independent, and peaceful Ukraine. I am convinced that Ukraine will prevail, I believe in the Ukrainian people.”<\/p>\n\n
In the message of Prime Minister Dorin Recean, it is stated that Ukraine “every day, demonstrates to the whole world what devotion to homeland and freedom means, defends its sovereignty and protects not only its own peace, but also the security of the entire region.”<\/p>\n\n
In a sign of solidarity, the square of the Parliament in Chisinau was illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag – blue and yellow.<\/p>\n\n
