A woman from Criuleni district was kidnaped by two persons whom she knew. The case was reported to the 112 Service on February 22, IPN reports.

Elena Băetrău, press officer of the Criuleni Police Inspectorate, said the woman was at the home of her partner together with the man. After 11pm, two men knocked at the door of the house, asking for help. When the owner opened the door, he was punched, while the woman was pulled towards a car and taken away.

The police in Criuleni identified the whereabouts of the kidnapers and the woman. The suspects aged 21 and 27 are from Dubăsari district. One of them was earlier tried. A criminal case over kidnaping and violation of the domicile was started and the suspects were remanded in custody for 72 hours.

According to Elena Băetrău, the two face 6 to 10 years in jail for kidnapping and a fine of 27,500 to 47,500 or 140 to 240 hours of community service or at most three years in jail for violation of the domicile.
