The works to prepare the water supply and sewerage systems for the cold season were completed. But the planned works that weren’t executed in summer owing to the high temperatures will be continued, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the public utility SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”.

There were repaired external water pipes, pumping stations, wastewater treatment stations, technological equipment units and control and revision wells. The water pipelines on the streets Zelinski, Zaikin, Soseaua Hancesti, Grenoble, Alecsandri, and Negruzzi were rehabilitated. In the suburban villages of Sangera, Floreni, Revaca, Dobrogea and others, sections of damages pipes were replaced. The water towers in Ghidighici and Goianul Nou are being washed and disinfected.

In October – November, the water supply in parts of Ciocana and Botanica districts will be stopped in order to substitute the hydrants and closing fittings and to perform the necessary pipe cleaning works. All the activities are coordinated with the local public administration and are designed to ensure the stable functioning of the water supply system. The taken measures will help to maximally reduce the water leakages and to increase the quality of the water supply and sewerage services.
