The holes on the roads of Chisinau are being stopped up with warm asphalt. The repair works started at the end of last week. Until now, as it was colder, there was used only cold asphalt that can be laid even at a temperature of minus 10 degrees Celsius, Efim Cheptanari, director of the municipal road management company “Exdrupo”, has told IPN.
The holes on the streets Sihastru, Pushkin, Stefan-Voda, Banulescu-Bodoni, Socoleni and Albisoara were stopped up with cold asphalt, while on the streets Dimo, Vadul lui Voda, Colonita, Codrilor, Calea Mosilor, and Dobruja – with warm asphalt. Fine asphalt will be used in April.
Cold asphalt last week was laid on 1,800 square meters of roadway, while warm asphalt – on 800 square meters.
The cold asphalt used in winter is much more expensive than the warm asphalt. However, the warm asphalt can be laid only when it grows warmer.
