Vlad Plahotniuc says he found out about Falesti incident from the media
First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc said he found out about the December 23 incident in the Domneasca Forest from the media on January 6. During the hearing held by the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the incident, Vlad Plahotniuc said he didn’t attend the funeral of the young man who was wounded fatally during hunting, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vlad Plahotniuc said he knows nothing about press reports that businessman Dorel Damir, who is his relative, was involved in the hiding of this case. He also said that he didn’t tell Prime Minister Vlad Filat about this case before January 6 and after it, as the leader of “Antimafie” Movement Sergiu Mocanu asserted.
According to Vlad Plahotniuc, the statements according to which he exerted pressure on Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean into hiding this case are false. The First Deputy Speaker said he never knew the young man who was shot during hunting and that he does not like hunting. “I never went hunting and never shot from a hunter’s gun,” said Vlad Plahotniuc.
On February 5, the commission also questioned Vlad Filat, Dorin Chirtoaca, and Mihai Ghimpu. The hearings are open to the public and the press.
