U.S. Embassy selects proposals for 2016-2018 English Access Microscholarship Program

The U.S. Embassy Chisinau is pleased to announce a call for grants proposals from potential implementing partners for the 2016-2018 English Access Microscholarship Program (Access). The purpose of the Access program is to provide disadvantaged youth with an opportunity to learn the English language and enhance leadership through teaching the basics of American culture and values of democratic development and civic engagement, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Embassy says the program benefits secondary school students from underprivileged families. The Access program must provide two years of English study, consisting of at least 180 hours of instruction per year. To be eligible for consideration, every applicant must be currently engaged in an English language teaching program. Both governmental and non-governmental organizations are eligible to apply for this program.

For additional information or clarification, the potential participants in the program can contact the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section at 022-408995 and Education-Moldova@state.gov.
