A man aged 63 died, while another one of 29 suffered serious injuries when they fell from height while installing lamps on a billboard near the National Opera House, IPN reports.

Spokesman for the National Emergency Medicine Center Petru Cravet said the elder man died on the spot, while the younger man was hospitalized with multiple injuries and with a concussion.

Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Andrian Jovmir said a criminal case was started over this case and the Labor Inspectorate is to establish all the circumstances of this incident. If it is determined that the labor protection rules were violated, the employer will be liable to criminal punishment, including a jail term.
