The Tiraspol administration is redistributing the remaining budget funds from 2024 to ensure payment of salaries, pensions and social benefits. The draft was passed in two readings by the region's supreme soviet on the initiative of Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski, IPN reports.

The redistribution of funds will not only affect the region's budget but also special-purpose funds.

In particular, the money will be taken from the Road Fund (37.1 million rubles ≈ 2.2 million euros), the Capital Investment Fund (59.2 million rubles ≈ 3.5 million euros), the Land Reclamation Fund (4.3 million rubles ≈ 255 thousand euros), as well as from other reserve sources.

The local governments will also be able to direct for the payment of salaries and pensions revenues obtained and taxes, such as the development or privatization tax, as well as revenues from territorial environmental funds.

The total amount of the redistributed funds will be 151.9 million rubles (8.99 million euro) from the region's budget and another 173.2 million rubles (10.25 million euro) from local budgets.

The adopted draft was a solution in the context of the funding shortfall caused by the energy crisis and the halt in the activity of large industrial enterprises in the region.

The reduction in the revenue was confirmed by the head of the Tiraspol administration's economic policy commission, Victor Guzun.

The redistributed funds cover salary payments and social allowances for February and March.
