The cemeteries “Saint Lazarus” located on Stefan Ciobanu St in Botanica district of Chisinau and “Sculeni” became overcrowded. The municipal funeral services company asked the Chisinau administration to allocate plots for extending them, IPN reports.

The company’s head Ludmila Botan said that besides the problem of space, there is also the problem of lack of pluvial water drainage systems. As a result of heavy rain, the water that accumulates on the territory of “Saint Lazarus” pours into the Byk River.

Ludmila Botan also said that a faction of the Chisinau Municipal Council asked the company to reduce the charges on funeral services, but they do not yet have such possibilities. However, the company will offer discounts for certain groups of people, including pensioners, veterans and invalids.
