The third panel situated between the 15th and 16h floors of the apartment building located at 11 Moscovei Blvd in Chisinau was restored. In the course of this week, the builders will deal with the reconstruction of the last panel located between the 16th and 17th floors. The centralized heating system will be repaired afterward.
According to the Chisinau City Hall, the project to rehabilitate the block damaged as a result of the October 6 explosion envisions complex works to reinforce the internal walks and to build four panels between the affected floors. The works are performed by the Public Amenities Division.
Last week, there were strengthened the internal walls on the 15th floor and reconstructed the external wall on the same floor. The places of common use on the stair continue to be renovated and were over 30% executed.
Five people died as a result of the October 6 blast. Among them was a child aged four. It was preliminarily determined that the exposition was caused by a gas leak.
Contacted by IPN, head of the Chisinau City Prosecutor’s Office Ștefan Șaptefrați said an official cause of the blast does not yet exist as the examinations ordered in this case, including of the discovered gas cylinder, are not yet over. When the examinations are over, the criminal case will be most probably dropped given that the culprit died.
