A section of public road in the city of Ialoveni collapsed near a construction site. The case was urgently examined by the City’s Emergency Situations Commission, and following checks, several irregularities were detected, including unauthorized excavations and illegal tree felling, reports IPN.

According to the Ialoveni City Hall, specialists were dispatched to the scene who assessed the condition of the affected area and the risks to the safety of citizens and road infrastructure. The checks revealed several violations, including the fact that the necessary measures were not taken to prevent land degradation and protect the public road. The competent institutions have been notified to document the case and establish any responsibilities.

The local authorities specify that the landowner was invited both to the site and to the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations, but he refused to participate.

Following the meeting, the authorities ordered the securing and delimitation of the affected area, temporary restriction of access to the dangerous perimeter, and constant monitoring of the situation. Furthermore, the documentation related to the executed works is to be presented, and specialists will determine the necessary technical solutions for land consolidation and the repair of the deteriorated road sector.

Six people have been dismissed, while others have been disciplined, following inspections carried out at the four forestry departments within the Chisinau Forestry Enterprise. The checks revealed serious violations in the management of the timber mass, the use of funds and the execution of forestry works, reports IPN.

According to the Ministry of Environment, it was found that 130 cubic meters of firewood are missing at the Criuleni forestry department. At the Vadul lui Voda forestry department, there was a shortage of 160 cubic meters. There, unregistered surpluses were also identified – 105 cubic meters of firewood and 10 cubic meters of timber.

At the Baltata nursery, losses of over one million lei were recorded. The cause is said to be the non-compliance with mandatory requirements and improper storage of the seed material.

The inspectors also found forestry works reported as only done on paper. The area concerned is 17 hectares in Vadul lui Voda, 11 hectares in Criuleni and 5 hectares in Ghidighici. In addition, new cars were purchased, even though the company had salary and tax debts of over 5 million lei.

The Ministry of Environment condemns the irregularities and assures that the checks will continue, with the application of strict measures, to prevent deviations.

Parents, students and teachers alike can report instances of inappropriate behavior or breaches of ethical standards committed in educational institutions. Such reports can be sent directly to the Ethics Council, a body responsible for monitoring integrity in general schools and technical vocational education institutions, reports IPN.

The Ministry of Education and Research clarifies that the structure analyzes the notifications received and, in case of violations, conducts internal investigations to document the situations. Subsequently, the Council proposes disciplinary measures, contributing to the maintenance of a fair and equitable educational environment.

“In order for the educational system to remain fair and safe for all students, it is crucial that every violation is reported and not repeated in the future”, states the Minister of Education, Dan Perciun.

The Ministry encourages the reporting of all cases where the provisions of the Teachers’ Code of Ethics are violated, whether it involves teachers, principals or other employees in the system.

Complaints can be sent securely and confidentially by email to: cancelaria@mec.gov.md.

A construction company is targeted in a criminal case investigated by the NAC, being suspected of carrying out works with multiple violations. Today, law enforcement officers raided several locations in Straseni district, IPN reports.

The National Anticorruption Center states that the targeted company carried out construction works on a building with non-compliance with urban planning and spatial planning documentation. According to an act issued by the Inspectorate for technical supervision, several violations were found. Among them are exceeding the permissible height regime by one level, exceeding the percentage of land occupancy, as well as the coefficient of lot utilization.

Following these deviations, the local public administration issued a provision ordering the work to be stopped. However, the works continued abusively, without complying with the legal provisions and ignoring the decision of the competent authorities.

In the context of the findings, the NAC initiated a criminal case on the basis of a reasonable suspicion regarding the low-quality execution of the constructions manifested by the continuation by the responsible persons of the improperly executed works and stopped by control acts.
