The 56-year-old man, who worked as a shepherd in Iași county, was found dead on Sunday evening. Doctors determined that he had a body temperature of 40 degrees Celsius due to prolonged exposure to the sun. In Timis county, a 17-year-old girl lost her life after going swimming in a pond near Sânnicolau Mare, and in Bucharest, a man was found drowned in Tei Lake, reports the publication Adevărul.

Meteorologists have announced that until Wednesday morning, in the vast majority of the country, maximum temperatures between 35 and 41 degrees Celsius will be recorded, and at night, between 17 and 25 degrees.

In the context of high temperatures, the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration has imposed traffic restrictions for vehicles with a maximum authorized total mass greater than 7.5 tons in 35 counties affected by the heatwave. The restrictions are valid on Monday, until 08:00 PM, and on Tuesday, June 30, between 12:00 PM-08:00 PM.

The measure targets the sectors of national roads, express roads, and highways, with the aim of preventing irreversible deformation of the road surface due to heavy traffic under extreme temperature conditions. Exempt from these restrictions are passenger transport and live animal transport, perishable goods, food, as well as vehicles involved in force majeure interventions.

At the same time, due to the heatwave, trains are required to travel at reduced speeds, up to 50 km/h. The longest delay recorded on Monday was 160 minutes for the train on the Timisoara-Bucharest route.
