The project includes the reinforcement of supporting elements, the replacement of degraded components, the installation of new beams and supports, as well as the installation of waterproofing systems, drainage, expansion joints, and metal railings. Also, sections of approximately 25 meters of roadway will be repaired on each of the two access ramps.

The bridge has a length of over 62 meters and a width of 13.5 meters. It will have two traffic lanes, guide lanes, and sidewalks for pedestrians.

The National Road Administration has announced that it has concluded the contract for the execution of works, following the completion of the public procurement procedure. According to the AND, the bridge, built in the period 1972-1973, requires complex repairs and the replacement of degraded structural elements to restore safety conditions.

The project involves the dismantling of the bridge’s track and existing superstructure, the consolidation of the resistance elements, the repair and reassembly of the beams, as well as the rehabilitation of the access road to the bridge over a length of almost 83 meters. At the same time, work will be carried out to connect the bridge to the national road.

During the period of construction, road traffic will be diverted to a temporary bypass road nearly 800 meters long. Also, for the drainage of the river water, a temporary reinforced concrete culvert will be built.

After rehabilitation, the bridge will have a length of over 67 meters and a width of approximately 12 meters, with a roadway of nine meters and two sidewalks. The works are to be completed within 15 months, and the contract value is 36.8 million lei, funds allocated from the Road Fund.
