According to the minister, WorldSkills Europe is a European network that brings together vocational and technical education institutions and organizes competitions dedicated to students and young specialists from various fields. The competitions are held according to international standards and include about 40 professions.

Dan Perciun stated that the participation of the Republic of Moldova in this network will offer students from vocational schools and colleges the opportunity to verify their level of preparation and compare it with that of competitors from other European countries. According to the minister, competitions can also become an instrument for evaluating the quality of professional training offered by educational institutions in the country.

The Minister of Education and Research pointed out that joining the network could also contribute to increasing the attractiveness of vocational and technical education, given that the economy needs more and more qualified specialists in technical and service fields.

During the event, participants highlighted the main directions for the development of the tourism sector. These include the valorization of cultural and gastronomic heritage, the development of rural and wine tourism, the training of specialists in the field and the strengthening of cooperation between authorities, the private sector and external partners.

The Executive Director of the European Tourism Commission, Eduardo Santander, emphasized that domestic tourism can strengthen the economy and support the development of local ecosystems. According to him, the Republic of Moldova has a unique potential for cultural experiences and the development of the sector depends on the collaboration between authorities, European partners and the private sector.

The Ambassador of Greece to the Republic of Moldova, Nikolaos Krikos, emphasized the importance of developing rural and regional tourism. According to the diplomat, in this regard, a three-year action plan is to be implemented between Greece and the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, the Minister of Finance, Andrian Gavrilita, stated that the government sees tourism not only as a service export, but also as a source of economic development, job creation and improving the quality of life.

At the same time, Liliana Dascaliuc, head of department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, mentioned that tourism can become a driving force for the development of the rural environment, and the wine sector remains one of the important pillars of this field in the Republic of Moldova.
