Diesel surpasses the threshold of 28 lei per liter. The National Agency for Energy Regulation has increased the maximum reference price by 51 bani. The new rates, valid for the weekend and Monday, also bring an increase in the price of gasoline by 24 bani per liter, reports IPN.

According to ANRE, standard diesel will be able to be sold at a maximum price of 28.07 lei per liter, 51 bani more, while COR 95 gasoline will cost at most 28.96 lei per liter, with an additional 24 bani.

ANRE establishes the maximum retail prices for standard fuels based on a methodology that takes into account the average of Platts international quotations and the official leu-dollar exchange rate for the last 14 days, as well as the specific commercial margin, excise duties and value added tax, applied in accordance with the provisions of the Fiscal Code.

Energocom justifies the request for an increase in the regulated price of natural gas due to rising acquisition costs on international markets. The company maintains that the price of gas purchased from the exchange has risen from about 30 euros to 56 euros per MWh, which has generated financial losses for the supplier, reports IPN.

In a press conference, the interim director of Energocom, Eugeniu Buzatu, stated that the difference between the estimated price and the actual procurement costs of gas led to the accumulation of a deficit of approximately 106 million lei. The amount represents over 1% of the company’s total regulated income, estimated at around eight billion lei at the beginning of the year.

According to the company’s representatives, the increase in gas prices was influenced by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which amplified market volatility. In recent months, prices have seen rapid increases, with differences of up to 10 euros for an MWh in just a few days, making it difficult to purchase gas at a stable price.

Under these conditions, Energocom, as a public service obligation provider, states that it is obliged to request a tariff revision to reflect the actual costs.

“If prices are not adjusted according to reality, Energocom will continue to accumulate those deviations, which it will recover later in another tariff exercise. But again, this issue falls within the competence of the regulator,” stated Eugeniu Buzatu.

The representatives of the supplier have stated that the request sent to ANRE represents a technical procedure for financial balancing, and the final decision will belong to the regulator. The company mentioned that, if international prices will decrease and the market will stabilize, it will request a reduction of the tariff for end consumers.

Energocom has requested an increase in the regulated price for consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT. The request is set to be reviewed by ANRE.

SA Energocom is requesting an increase in the regulated price of natural gas for end consumers connected to low-pressure distribution networks, from 13.35 lei to 19.37 lei per cubic meter. A move in this direction has been submitted to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, reports IPN.

The company argues the need for adjustment due to the increasing costs of natural gas acquisition. If at the approval of the current tariffs a medium price of 404.24 euros was estimated for a thousand cubic meters, in the period from January to July this reached around 423.28 euros, and for the months of August to December it is forecasted at approximately 623.54 euros.

According to the provider, in the first seven months of the year, the costs of the regulated service exceeded the revenues obtained from the current rates, generating an estimated tariff deficit of 106.8 million lei.

Energocom maintains that the proposed increase is necessary to cover the justified costs of the public service and to avoid the accumulation of new tariff deviations, against the backdrop of rising gas prices on European markets, influenced by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and market volatility.

Energocom specifies that the request represents only a tariff proposal, and the decision regarding its approval, modification or rejection belongs exclusively to ANRE.

The price of a liter of diesel increases by 39 bani. According to the National Agency for Energy Regulation, on Wednesday, the maximum retail price at the pump will be 26.67 lei for a liter. The regulatory institution mentions that fuel prices continue to rise in the Republic of Moldova against the backdrop of tensions in the Middle East, which have led to an increase in international quotations for petroleum products, reports IPN.

At the same time, on Wednesday, a liter of 95 octane gasoline will be sold for a maximum of 28.38 lei, an increase of 10 bani.

The institution explains that the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and the resumption of military actions in the region have amplified uncertainties in the international energy markets. At the same time, the risks regarding the security of strategic transport and supply routes have led to an increase in the quotations of petroleum products.

ANRE specifies that the Republic of Moldova is entirely dependent on imports of petroleum products, and the maximum selling prices are calculated based on the approved methodology, which takes into account international benchmark indicators, including Platts quotations, as well as the other components provided by the regulatory framework.

The Agency mentions that it will continue to monitor the evolution of international markets and their impact on fuel prices in the domestic market.

Potable water could cost more for consumers served by the Apa-Canal Chisinau company. The National Agency for Energy Regulation proposes a rate of 13.99 lei per cubic meter, while the operator requested 15.55 lei. The rate proposed by the agency is one leu more than the current one, reports IPN.

According to ANRE, the project also includes an increase in the tariff for the public sewerage service to 7.40 lei per cubic meter, compared to 5.63 lei in the previous project. For technological water supply, ANRE proposes a tariff of 7.66 lei per cubic meter, and for the production and transportation of water for redistribution – 6.26 lei.

Therefore, the institution estimates that the regulated revenues for water supply and sewerage services will amount to about one billion lei, and the total expenses – approximately 923 million lei.

At the same time, ANRE states that the volume of potable water supplied is estimated at over 47 million cubic meters, and the technological consumption and system losses at about 26%. The final decision on the new tariffs is to be adopted by the National Agency for Energy Regulation.

Premier Energy and FEE Nord will continue to provide the universal service and the last resort supply of electricity, starting from Thursday, July 9, for a period of three years. The decision was approved on Monday by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, reports IPN.

According to ANRE, a competitive procedure was initiated in May for the designation of the mandatory public service providers. For each of the two territories served by the distribution operators, only one application was submitted, from Premier Energy and FEE Nord, and the procedure was terminated due to a lack of minimum competitiveness.

At the same time, ANRE specifies that the other active providers on the market have not presented the necessary documents or have not confirmed the availability of electricity supply sources, which made it impossible to evaluate the fulfillment of the legal conditions for designation.

Under these conditions, the regulatory institution has the right to designate the provider by decision. The Agency specifies that Premier Energy and FEE Nord meet all the conditions stipulated by law, including experience in providing the universal service, the ability to supply electricity, and the necessary infrastructure to serve consumers. ANRE mentions that the designation for this period will ensure the continuity of electricity supply to consumers and will allow the organization of a new competitive procedure after reassessing the existing market conditions.
