State institutions to have budgets for cooperating with NGOs

Prime Minister Pavel Filip submitted a proposal on the planning by state institutions of a budget that would be used in the relations with the nongovernmental organizations. This is to be examined by the Democratic colleagues from the parliamentary alliance. The announcement was made by the Premier in a press briefing held after the ordinary weekly meeting of the Democratic Party’s leadership, IPN reports.

Pavel Filip said the NGOs should be involved more in the monitoring and assessment of policies drafted by state institutions. The role of nongovernmental organizations should be put to good use. “I would like the state institutions to use the expertise of NGOs, including when state policies start to be drafted,” stated the Premier.

Pavel Filip also said that when public policy documents are formulated, the state institutions will have to stage public contests to choose expert organizations and use their expertise. The initiative will be registered in Parliament.
