The national project Mobile Emergency, Reanimation and Extrication Service (SMURD) was launched in Balti municipality by opening the first emergency medical assistance center at the regional dispatcher’s service “Nord” (“North”), IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, both doctors of the Emergency Medical Service and paramedics of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service will work at the regional dispatcher’s service “Nord” from September. They will intervene in situations of risk.

In a move to support the national project SMURD, the Government of Romania donated five modern ambulances for providing assistance in emergencies to Moldova.

The national project SMURD is to also be implemented in southern and central Moldova.
