Four men and two women were arrested by the police on suspicion that they organized begging on the territory of Chisinau. The group was caught when they intended to transport two persons in wheelchairs to beg in the streets of the capital city from Stauceni commune of Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.

According to the Chisinau Police Division, the suspects, aged between 29 and 52, are from Chisinau and Nisporeni. The police established that the invalids had been begging for a period, being conveyed through Chisinau and its suburbs by one of the suspects. When being questioned, the suspects admitted their guilt.

The six persons face a fine of 10,000 to 50,000 lei or up to five years in jail for organizing begging.

The police are gathering information to identify other accomplices and to establish all the circumstances related to this case.
