Six persons died and five persons were hurt in two accidents that happened in the evening of May 17. Press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Diana Fetco has told IPN that the first accident occurred in Ialoveni district, while the second one in Sangerei district. Speeding is the preliminary cause of both of the accidents.
Two vehicles collided on the Chisinau- Leuseni road at about 9pm. There were three persons in one of the vehicles and four persons in the other one. A woman aged 23 and a man aged 26, who were in the same car, and a 29-year-old man from the second vehicle died on the spot.
There was also a minor traveling as a passenger in the first car. This was taken to the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau. The passengers of the second vehicle – three men from Ukraine aged 29, 37 and 38 – were admitted to the Emergency Medicine Institute.
About two hours later, two cars collided head-on at the entrance to Mandrestii Noi village of Sangerei district. As a result of the collision at a dangerous turn, the three persons who were in one of the cars, aged 24, 26 and 49, died. The 36-year-old driver of the other car suffered injuries.
The circumstances of the accidents are being established.
