The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) donated laboratory equipment for water analysis to the Zoology Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The donation worth 170,000 lei was offered under a cooperation contract signed by the two institutions, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a press release, the Academy of Sciences says that the new equipment will help improve the quality of the fundamental and applicative researches, offer new possibilities of implementing national and international projects and extend the laboratory’s activities in such areas as quantitative analyses, monitoring of the quality of water and products, including the piscicultural ones. The equipment has been already installed and is being tested. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, which coordinates the Water and Sewerage Program, has cooperated with Moldovan drinking water specialists during the last few years. It carried out successful eco-sanitation works aimed at stopping the pollution of water, first of all in wells.
