The Romanian print media trust Adevarul Holding on December 6 launched its newspaper “Adevarul” in Chisinau. The paper will appear daily from Monday until Friday in 7,000 full-color copies and will be distributed all over Moldova. It costs 4 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. Adevarul Holding director general Peter L. Imre told a news conference that the launch of the paper in Moldova is a natural step as the aim of the trust is to inform the Romanians everywhere. “We are the paper No. 1 in Romania and hope to be as popular in Moldova for the objective information and analysis that we will provide,” he said. The editorial team consists of journalists from Romania and Moldova and will be coordinated by editor Ramona Ursu, former deputy editor-in-chief of “Adevarul de seara“ of Iasi, and by her colleague from Chisinau Aureliu Cornescu, who has worked in the Moldovan press for 20 years. The members of the team include such well-known Moldovan journalists as Alina Turcanu, Anastasia Nani, Valentina Basiul, Domnica Negru and Ion Preasca. “Adevarul” will treat social, political and economic subjects. It will include comments by the editorialists Vitalie Ciobanu, Alexandru Cantari, Igor Casu and others. The paper will be available online on www.adevarul.md. The newspaper will remain impartial and will favor no Moldovan party, said Sabin Orcan, project director at “Adevarul” in Moldova. The daily will be printed in Romania as there is no publishing house in Moldova that would meet the graphic conditions needed to keep the standards of the publication. Adevarul Holding intends to launch soon three of the most famous book collections: “100 books that one should have in the library”, “Disney Classic” and “The World's Great Museums”. By the end of September, these collections were sold in Romania in over 28 million copies.
