Works to repair 12 more streets, in addition to those that were already repaired or are being reconstructed, started in Orhei town. The information was communicated by the mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor, while inspecting the area where an important segment of sidewalk was built, IPN reports, quoting the Orhei mayor’s office.
The construction of the 600-meter long sidewalk along S.Lazo St in the town’s Lupoaia district was recently finished. The inhabitants highly appreciated this fact for the reason that in the absence of the sidewalk, the people were to choose between going through dust and mud or risking their life by going along the roadway. The children crossing the area on their way to school exposed themselves to an even greater risk. Now pedestrian traffic is safe and convenient, both for grownups and children.
The mayor of Orhei, who came to inspect the area after the works were completed, said that four more roads will be repaired extensively in addition to the 13 streets from the district that are under repair. These are the streets 8 Martie and Susleni, the bystreet of 900 meters between the streets Brasoveanu and La Hotar, and the bystreet of 800 meters that connects Stejarilor St and Nursery School No. 12. The repair works are under way.
Ilan Shor also announced the start of repair works on five streets in Nistreana district and two streets in the center of the town. The streets Orheiul Vechi and Livezilor will be repaired thoroughly, while Negruzzi St will be stopped up.
The works to rehabilitate the 12 streets will be completed by November 1.
