Renato Usatyi on August 25 will file the required documents for registering his new party – the Party of Renato Usatyi” (PaRUs) - to the Ministry of Justice. To be able to take part in the November 30 legislative elections, the party must have all the documents in order by September 15, IPN reports.

The politician told a news conference that according to his information the Ministry of Justice will do its utmost for PaRUs to be registered on September 18-20 so that it could not take part in the parliamentary elections. If so, the party will create the “Electoral Bloc of Renato Usatyi” with less known parties.

The politician said he is not afraid that they will not pass the election threshold of 9% set for blocs. Another option is for him to be elected the leader of an already registered party. “All the decisions will be taken after September 15,” stated Renato Usatyi.

The congress to constitute PaRUs took place on August 23. The congress elected Renato Usatyi as chairman of the party. The businessman said then that Moldova is close to a catastrophe owing to the current government and when he comes to power he will punish everyone.

The Ministry of Justice refused to register the Our Party, which was the new name of the National People’s Party that Renato Usatyi took over from Nicolae Andronic, invoking procedural violations. The party and the Ministry are in litigation. On August 28, the Supreme Court of Justice is to pass judgment. Recently, an opinion poll commissioned by the newspaper Panorama showed that Renato Usatyi would pass the election threshold of 6% in this autumn’s elections.
