More than 80 million lei was for the first time allocated from the state budget for supplying persons suffering from cancer with medicines, including chemotherapeutic preparations, IPN reports.
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca called on the people of Moldova to do medical examinations on time and to lead a healthy life, without smoking and abuse of alcohol and with balanced eating.
With the support of the Norwegian charity organization “Help Moldova”, the Oncology Institute received a donation of 25 medical beds, special clothes and other accessories needed to ensure conditions for people with cancer.
As many as 8,400 persons suffering from cancer were recorded in Moldova last year. This disease in 2013 caused 5,500 deaths. The most spread forms of cancer are the rectal cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer.
