Weather forecasters issued a yellow code advisory in connection with the rise in the level of water in the Prut River. The water level near Criva village and Costesti town is expected to rise from 1.5 to 2.2 meters on April 5-8.
Contacted by IPN, head of the Hydrological Forecasts Center Valentina Cires said the increase in the water level is normal for this period and there is no danger of floods. “The water in parts, especially Briceni district, may flood, but in insignificant amounts. This is normal in spring,” she stated.
Alexandru Coronovschi, deputy head of the water management division of Moldova’s Water Agency, confirmed that there is no danger of floods at the moment.
