Sheriff found swiftly a new coach after Lilian Popescu tendered his resignation. This is Zoran Vulic, who came from Split. This team ranks fourth in the championship of Croatia, IPN reports.

Vulic left Split in September, after working there for nine months. In his career, the 54-year-old coach also trained Hajduk Split, Luci-Energia Vladivostok, Rijeka, Istra 1961 and the national Under 19 football team of Croatia.

As a player, Vulic won several titles. With Hajduk Split, he won two times the Cup of Yugoslavia, in 1984 and 1987, and two times the championship of Croatia, in 1994 and 1995. He also played for such teams as Mallorca and Nantes and managed to score over 20 goals. He played 25 matches for the national team of Yugoslavia and scored one goal.

Vulic will make his debut at Sheriff in the match against Petrocub in Hancesti on October 18. After ten stages played, Sheriff ranks third and is two points away from the leading Dacia.
