The Party of Socialists’ candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Zinaida Grecheanyi said that together with her team, she will make effort to stop all the unauthorized construction works in the municipality and to demolish the constructions erected in the green areas, parks and yards of apartment buildings, IPN reports.
The candidate told a news conference that 16 plots on which there were stadiums have been sold over the last eight years. The damage caused to the municipal budget by selling this land comes to about 7 billion lei.
“We aim to review the documentation for all the unfinished constructions, to stop the problematic construction works, to annul the dubious authorizations, and to demolish the buildings that were illegally erected on playgrounds and in parks,” stated Zinaida Grecheanyi.
She added that construction authorizations will be issued only in accordance with the norms. She suggested instituting the one-stop shop principle for avoiding bureaucracy and rooting out corruption at the Chisinau City Hall.
“We will hire only professionals, not relatives or party members. Any decision of social importance for the city will be discussed with the people. From July 2015, no construction will be allowed inside yards or parks,” said Zinaida Grecheanyi.
She promised that 700 yards of apartment buildings and 400 recreational areas will be laid out and lit during the next four years. Also, 400 blocks will be thermally insulated and will have their piping systems, doors and windows changed.
