The Party of Socialists’ candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Zinaida Grecheanyi said that over 14 ha of land belonging to medical institutions located in Chisinau have been privatized or sold illegally over the last several years. The candidate made such accusations in a news conference held in front of the Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 3 “Saint Trinity”, IPN reports.
“The parking lot at the National Hospital, the land adjoining the Maternity Hospital No. 2, the so-called optimization of the hospital No. 4 situated in the center of Chisinau, where there are over 1.5 hectares of land, and the land of the Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ignatenco” and “Saint Trinity” Hospital are only some of the cases of serious illegalities committed by the local administration of Chisinau,” stated Zinaida Grecheanyi.
The candidate noted that constructions on these plots are erected by companies that belong to councilors, MPs and party members. The construction works are usually performed with serious deviations from the urbanism norms. The medical institutions haven’t been repaired for many years. “We intend to stop the theft of municipal land from near medical institutions. We must lay out these territories, not destroy them,” she stated.
Zinaida Grecheanyi competes for the mayoralty of Chisinau with the Liberal candidate Dorin Chirtoaca in the second round of voting on June 28.
