Zimbru Chisinau's manager Ion Caras has launched a scathing attack on referees, claiming the officiation was directed against his side in the home game with Iskra-Stal Rybnitsa on Sunday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I regret to say that was a poor job of refereeing, again, and, again, directed against Zimbru. That's not the first time, and I can't understand the reason”, he fumed.
Caras was ejected by referee Veaceslav Banari in the 74th minute for alleged vitriolic arguing, but he begs to differ. “The referee was generous for yellow cards with us whenever we were getting more enterprising. We had a player sent off and I watched the rest of the game from the stands”, he complained.
No post-game statements came from the umpire.
Veaceslav Banari is a referee with international experience. He is one of the four judges selected by the Moldovan Football Federation and authorized by UEFA to preside over the European U-19 Championship qualifiers in Malta.
