The Competition Committee of the Moldovan Football Federation fined the club Zimbru for the behavior of its fans in the May 25 Moldova’s Cup Final, played against Sheriff. The team must pay 150,000 lei because the fans used smoke-producing devices, chanted offenses against the Moldovan Football Federation and incited the public to violence by simulating general battles between spectators in the stadium’s stands

The decision can be challenged in the Federation’s Appeals Committee within seven days. Zimbru was also fined 5,000 lei because the fans used petards in the last match of the championship, against Speranta.

200,000 lei is the highest fine ever paid by a football club in Moldova. Last year, the fans of FC Tiraspol whistled when Moldova’s national anthem was played before the Cup Final, which involved Veris.
