Zimbru Chisinau was trounced by Turkey’s Osmanlispor 0-5 and was thus eliminated from the UEFA Europa League. This is the biggest failure for Zimbru in its history of participations in the European cups, IPN reports.
Nigerian player Aminu Umar was the hero of the game played in Ankara. He scored a hat-trick in the goal protected by Denis Rusu. The other goals were scored by Kilikaslan and Raul Rusescu. Osmanlispor qualified after a 7-2 general score.
“After the first goal was scored with a penalty, we met with difficulties in entering the play. It is a painful defeat, but it is a lesson for us,” Zimbru coach Flavius Stoican told a news conference.
