Zimbru beat FC Costuleni 2-1 and climbed to the fifth spot in the National Division rankings. The victory goal was scored by Jean-Marie Amani in the last minute, IPN reports.

Brazilian player Ademar Xavier scores for Zimbru for the third consecutive year. The goal of honor of FC Costuleni was scored by Vadim Cemirtan.

“I’m satisfied because I saw how the players did their utmost towards the end of the game. We now face a more difficult game – that against FC Tiraspol from the quarterfinals of Moldova’s Cup,” Zimbru coach Oleg Kubarev said in a news conference after the match.

Zimbru now has by 3 points more than FC Costuleni and Milsami. Milsami lost at home 2-3 to Veris, which continues the battle for the European cups. Veris has the same score as Dacia, which defeated Speranta 1-0.

The leading Sheriff and FC Tiraspol easily won against Olimpia (5-0) and, respectively, Academia (2-0). The championship’s top scorer Henrique Luvannor scored another two goals for Sheriff. The striker of the national football team scored 25 goals so far this season.
