Zalina Marghiev has reached the finals of the World Athletics Championship in Beijing. She will compete among the world's 12 best hammer-throwing athletes, IPN reports.
In qualifying group B, Zalina managed a result of 72 m 29 cm from her first try, enough to warrant her a place in the finals.
Her sister, Marina Nichisenco, underperformed and managed only a 66 m 63 cm result from her second attempt, which wasn't good enough. The finals are scheduled for Thursday, 11.00 AM (EET).
