Parliament voted today to dismiss Anatolie Zagorodnîi as general director of the National Agency for Dispute Resolution.
MP Dumitru Alaiba (ACUM/PAS), the motion’s initiator, explained that during the process of selecting a director for the Agency in November 2018, the Economy Committee somehow failed to see that the Democrat Anatolie Zagorodnîi didn’t meet the requirements, specifically at least 3 years’ experience in public procurement. Nevertheless, Zagorodnîi was preferred over the other contender.
Zagorodnîi was confirmed to the post by Parliament on 7 February 2019. He was first elected MP in 2005, on the Communist Party’s ticket. In 2015 he quit the Communists and later joined the Democratic Party.
