Yuriy Vernydub named coach of Sheriff

Ukrainian coach Yuriy Vernydub took over Sheriff Tiraspol. The 54-year-old coach last trained Shakthyor Soligorsk, but resigned after the Belarusian team was eliminated from the UEFA Europa League by Sfîntul Gheorghe, IPN reports.

In 2010-2019, Vernydub worked with Zarea Lugansk, which he qualified twice for the UEFA Europa League groups. In 2016, the team competed in the final of the Ukrainian Cup, while next year it ranked third in the championship. In 2016 and 2018, he was named the best coach of Ukraine.

Sheriff holds the lead in the National Division after 21 stages, having by six points more than Petrocub. Vernydub makes his debut 20, 2021, when Sheriff Tiraspol plays Sfîntul Gheorghe.
