With 48.18% of the ballots counted, Yulia Tymoshenko’s Bloc is apparently the leader of the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine with 33.45% polled, followed by the Party of Regions - 30.44% and Our Ukraine - 15.64 %. Preliminary results suggested that three other parties passed the 3 percent threshold for the Supreme Rada: the fifth is the Communist Party (5.07%), followed by Litvin’s Bloc (4.18%) and the Socialist Party (3.18 %). Ukraine’s President Viktor Yushcenko urged the voters on Sunday to vote for “changes”. “In my opinion, the alternative today is the following: either stability, or changes. I’m sure that the nation will choose changes today”, the head of state said in allusion to the slogan of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich “Stability and Welfare”. For his part, Viktor Yanukovich was confident in his victory, but warned he could dispute the outcomes of the poll in case of frauds. “There’s no doubt, we shall win; there will be no more early elections in Ukraine”, said Ianukovich after casting his vote. The Ukrainian Supreme Rada has 450 seats. Some 1,500 Ukrainians came to the two polling stations opened in Moldova, in Chisinau and Balti. The Party of Regions was the option of 890 persons that voted in Chisinau. The following are the Socialist Party with 123 votes, Yulia Tymoshenko’s Bloc with 65 and Our Ukraine with 50.
