Youth organizations based in the capital city and suburban settlements can obtain nonreimbursable funds to implement projects that promote the personal and professional development of young people. This became possible thanks to the municipal grant program launched by the Chisinau City Hall, with a total budget of 2.5 million lei. Projects can be submitted electronically until March 19, IPN reports.
This year, the Chisinau City Hall will finance projects in the following fields: volunteering and youth services; inclusion of young people with reduced pportunities, economic opportunities for young people; employment’ promotion of a healthy lifestyle; personal development of young people, and life skills. “These priorities are exactly in line with the Municipal Youth Strategy for 2023-2028 and that’s why we aim to achieve them and meet the needs of young people in the municipality. There are very wide funding areas in which each organization can identify a goal and implement a project,” said Petru Grecu, director of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center.
The projects will be carried out during at most seven months, from the date of signing the financing contract. Up to 200,000 lei will be allocated for the implementation of a project by the winning organization. Mayor general Ion Ceban urged the young people to be active and become involved in various activities to the greatest extent possible, specifying that the Grant Program for young people and youth organizations, whose budget was increased from 300,000 lei in 2020 to 2.5 million this year, comes with support in this regard.
Applicants that hold the status of noncommercial youth organization and don’t have debts to the state or local budget are eligible for participation. Likewise, the applicant must comply with the obligations assumed under previous financing contracts. The file can be submitted electronically to: programgranturi@gmail.com
The municipal grant program was launched in 2020 by the Chisinau City Hall through the agency of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center.
