The National Youth Council of Moldova for the fourth consecutive year stages the Youth Festival. The event will take place on the pedestrian street Eugen Doga in Chisinau on August 11, starting at 4pm. This year’s event bears the UN title of the International Youth Day “Safe Spaces for Youth”, IPN reports.
“No matter whether these are civic, public, digital or physical spaces, they are essential for enabling the young people to become involved, to take part and to feel part of the community to which they belong,” said the organizers. The Youth Festival will also be a platform for supporting the candidacy of Chisinau City for the title of European Youth Capital 2021 as this title will enable Chisinau to become a livelier and youth friendly city.
The official opening of the Youth Festival will take place at 4pm. There will be mounted a photo exhibition entitled “Chisinau trough the young people’s eyes”. A music festival that will feature young artists will be held from 4:30am until 10pm. Between 4:30 and 7pm, there will be staged fairs of NGOs, companies and partners. Form 5pm until 8pm, those who want will be able to take part in two panel discussions – on the theme of the International Youth Day 2018 and on the situation in Chisinau as the city of tomorrow, the faced problems and solutions to them.
