Young woman suffers burns on about half of body

A 20-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital with burns on at least 40-45% of the body. She received them during a party on Monday evening. Chisinau Ambulance Service coordinating doctor Eufalia Negreata has told Info-Prim Neo that the girl gave a party at her home. At about 11pm, she switched on the table lamp. It looked dirty and the girl decided to clean it. She poured spirit of 90 degrees on the hot lamp and it exploded. The woman was engulfed in flames. Her friends put the fire out, but she suffered second- and third-degree burns on 40-45% of the body. A man aged 32 from Dobrogea village decided to commit suicide by hanging himself from a tree. His brother saw him hanging and cut the rope. The man fell from height and suffered a head trauma. The same day, four women aged between 22 and 72 drank pills in order to kill themselves. They were admitted to Saint Trinity Hospital. Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau ambulance teams dealt with 745 emergencies, including 56 cases of acute viral infection, a heart attack, seven strokes and 26 deliveries.
