Young woman struck violently by minibus in Chisinau

A young woman went into a coma after she was hit by a minibus running on rote No.103. The accident happened this morning on Teilor St, at the intersection with Independentei St, in Chisinau’s Botanica district, press officer of the Traffic Police Division Aurelia Mija has told Info-Prim Neo. The driver of the minibus said he did not see the pedestrian. According to preliminary inquiries, the young woman was crossing the street not far from the crosswalk, but it is yet to be established exactly. An investigation is under way. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, spokesman for the Emergency Medicine Center Petru Cravet said the 23-year-old woman suffered a closed brain injury, a concussion and contusion of the internal organs. The patient was admitted to the reanimatology section in a second-degree coma.
