A woman aged 22 from Nisporeni district died in a road accident on the Ungheni-Sculeni road, near Petrești village of Ungheni district, in the evening of April 16. The woman was walking by the roadside when she was hit by the rearview mirror of a minibus driven by a man aged 26, IPN reports.
Cristina Vicol, senior press officer of the Ungheni Police Inspectorate, said the driver of the minibus was busy with the cellphone while driving and didn’t reduce the speed to ensure safety.
The young woman died on the spot.
The driver is from Fălești district. He has a driver’s license and wasn’t under the influence of alcohol. The young man is cooperating with the police and is investigated outside custody.
